HASTEY HASTEY - The title itself indicates that the film is meant to be a laugh ride all the way.
With 2007 doing exceedingly well for comedies and 2008 also supporting two comedy successes - ONE TWO THREE and KRAZZY 4, isn't there a fear that eventually audience may become bored of comedies. Won't they be looking at some variety in the offering?
Negates Nisha Rawal, the debutant leading lady of the film, "I don't think comedy can ever go out of fashion. Agreed that 2007 was extra special for comedies but I somehow have a feeling that 2008 would be even better."
What's the reason behind her positive thought? "Well, a comedy too can come in different flavours. There could be language comedies, sex comedies or even kid comedies. This way HASTEY HASTEY is a different kind of comedy as the script is such that it leads to numerous funny situations happen in the lives of its lead characters", elaborates Nisha.
Since the film seems like a fun ride all the way, what has been her contribution to the comedy quotient?
"Well, frankly speaking, my character doesn't really do much comedy as my role is more on the romantic side. But you have to see Rajpal Yadav to believe it. He gets the house down with his triple role act. It's a great show by him."
However, film's lead Jimmy Sheirgill insists - "The film is not just a laugh-laugh show all the way. It has some real emotional moments as well, especially towards the second half. It won't really categorize it as a full-on comedy flick and rather call it a 'masala' flick which has something for everyone. I also like Anu Malik's music for the film, especially 'Almadad' by Zubin Garg. It is my favorite song from the album."
